Human resources expert, Melissa Marsh, is founder of HRinDemand LLC, a Reno-based human resources consultancy providing easy-to-use tools and expert guidance to help entrepreneurs and small business owners effectively recruit, hire and manage employees.

With more than 15 years of working in Human Resources, Melissa is able to readily assess an employer’s needs. She brings experience and understanding to help business owners understand and navigate the maze of employment regulations in their industries.

With a focus on small businesses (less than 100 employees), Melissa’s company operates as an outsourced human resources department, offering customized employee handbooks, job descriptions, HR policies/procedures, recruiting, hiring, training, surveys, cost savings benefits analysis and employee performance management. Melissa also conducts internal investigations of harassment, discrimination and other employment-related complaints.

In the late 1990s, she began her career in the casino industry, working in human resources for MGM Grand, Las Vegas. Following her work at MGM Grand, Melissa was employed in a variety of industries, including start-up consulting firms, Fortune 500 companies, food and beverage companies, and publishing companies. She held positions with First American Appraisal Services, Webvan, N9NE Group, and Greenspun Media Group. Melissa’s extensive and comprehensive experience demonstrates her ability to be adaptable and attentive to any organization or company.

Dedicated to the advancement of her profession, Melissa is a member of the Northern Nevada chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and has served on organizational committees for the 2012 Nevada State SHRM Conference and the 2013 Nevada State Legislative Conference. She is currently a member of the Northern Nevada Human Resources Association board of directors serving as chair of the Workforce Readiness Committee.

Melissa is committed to helping Nevada’s entrepreneurial business owners/operators in a variety of ways. She has served as a Chamber of Commerce ambassador and as a member of the NCET board of directors.

As a native Nevadan, a graduate of the University of Nevada-Reno, the recipient of a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, an HRCI-certified Senior HR Professional, and SHRM Senior Certified Professional, Melissa understands the people, the business environment and the laws that govern Nevada employers.

Caty DeLone, aPHR

Caty DeLone joined HRinDemand as an HR Consultant in February 2017. In this role, she provides client companies and internal support for HR functions.

Caty began her career in Northern Nevada’s tourism industry, serving as director of sales at Circus Circus, Siena Hotel/Resort and Homewood Suites by Hilton. In addition to developing her managerial and human resources skills in these positions, she also learned the importance of customer service. She strongly believes that each employee is a customer and deserves the highest quality of service that HRinDemand can provide.

Caty is a native Nevadan who graduated from the University of Nevada, Reno, with a bachelor’s degree in international affairs. She recently obtained Associate Professional in Human Resources (aPHR) certification from the Human Resource Certification Institute and looks forward to sitting for the SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM–CP) exam in 2018.

Christy Bonnett joined HRinDemand as executive assistant to Melissa Marsh in May 2016. She is a C-level executive assistant with over 20 years of experience supporting senior executives in large corporations as well as entrepreneurial companies.

Interfacing with employees and clients from entry level to executive, Christy has managed a wide range of confidential personnel and business matters. She has developed human resources operations and procedures for young companies in addition to handling the hiring and on-boarding processes. Christy brings well-rounded experience and keen interpersonal skills to her position at HRinDemand.

Prior to joining HRinDemand, she was executive assistant to the chief operating officer at Elevate Investment Group. Christy supported senior executives in strategy, medical management and information technology at Health Net, Inc. and a senior partner at McKinsey & Company, a global management consulting firm.

Christy participates in the Society for Human Resources. She holds an AA in economics from Los Angeles Valley College.

 

Charlotte Altamirano

Charlotte Altamirano joined HRinDemand as a human resources assistant consultant in June of 2017. She helps small businesses navigate the various aspects of employee management.

Charlotte graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from the University of Nevada, Reno, and is a member of Lambda Pi Eta, the National Communication Association’s honor society. Throughout her education, Charlotte studied various forms of communication, including organizational and business communication, conflict resolution, as well as dyadic communication, small or large group communication, public communication and mass communication. Along with this, she studied various types of communication like verbal, non-verbal and written. From her education, she understands the importance of, and how to accomplish, effective communication.

As an administrative assistant at the university for 5 years during her education, she worked alongside professors, students, and university staff. Charlotte understands the importance of serving and connecting with an individual, along with valuing the individual in the midst of any situation, business or environment.
